In February 2022, a devastating Kalbaishakhi storm completely destroyed the only home of Hamidul Islam and his family in Dimla, Nilphamari. The storm left Hamidul, his wife, and three children without a shelter, forcing them to live in dire conditions. Initially, CnS Bangla Foundation, a nonprofit organization in Bangladesh, provided immediate support by supplying food and plastic sheets to help protect the family from the rain.
In the aftermath of the storm, the family was able to use some metal sheets to build a temporary shelter, but the lack of resources prevented them from rebuilding a permanent home. Despite these hardships, the family continued to live in the damaged house, struggling with limited space and comfort.
CnS Bangla Foundation’s Commitment to Rebuilding Lives
Recognizing the dire need for a stable home, CnS Bangla Foundation stepped in to offer long-term support. Under its Self-Sufficiency Project, the foundation took on the responsibility of constructing a new, permanent house for Hamidul Islam’s family. This project aims to provide vulnerable families with a safe and secure living environment, helping them regain their dignity and stability.
